this together, sharing the same concerns while having hopes and dreams for the

In order to consider your safety and to adhere to the

will be closed for the next two weeks. I will reevaluate reopening at that time
with your health and safety as my main priority. I will stay in touch with you
about that.

COVID-19 Update From Dr. Norman Bakshandeh Day
I hope that you and your families are all doing well during
this extremely difficult time. I am thinking of you and want you to know that
your health and welfare is always my number one priority.
Please know that we are taking all steps necessary
for increased sanitization in my offices to ensure your safety. For now, the
office is open but with limited office hours. If you have any questions or
concerns, please call me or email me at Normanbdaymd@gmail.com.
As you are, we are taking this day by day and following the
CDC guidelines. Please feel free to call my Brooklyn or Manhattan office if you
would like further information about the office hours or any plastic surgery
inquiries. I would be more than happy to speak with you.
While I would love to see you in my office, I know that this
is a time where we need to stay in as much as possible. It is my greatest hope
that we will all be healthy, stronger and able to resume our normal lives in
the very near future. In the meantime, please stay safe and practice all of the
good hygiene measures that we are being instructed to do. As this is such a
stressful time, I hope that you can find some solace in an area that gives you
some peace such as meditation, getting some fresh air and enjoying some family
bonding time (even though I know that is sometimes a challenge!).
On a personal
note, I was quite shocked last night when my son (who is reluctantly home for
the year from college) asked me to show him how I bake the white chocolate chip
cranberry oatmeal cookies that I regularly send him to school. It was a bit messy,
but we had a good time and for a brief moment – things seemed strangely normal.
Please take good care, keep in touch and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Gynecomastia for Men - Before the Winter Holidays / Get Ready For Summer
What is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia
in men is the condition of having abnormally large breasts. There is a lot of
variation in the degrees of abnormal enlargement. The growth can be very small
and limited to some hard fibrous tissue limited to the areola only or as large
as breasts like that of a female. Most gynecomastia is somewhere in between
these two extremes. Hormonal imbalances in men can sometimes cause female like
breasts to develop in male bodies. This swelling of breast tissues is a medical
condition which is also known as breast hypertrophy and gynecomastia is more commonly known as man-boobs. Gynecomastia
usually occurs on both sides of
the chest of a man however it can also only affect a single side.
What Causes Gynecomastia?
Certain hormonal, environmental, developmental and dietary factors
play a role in increasing the probability of developing Gynecomastia. Gynecomastia
can develop in men due to increasing weight and obesity. This is because there
are higher levels of fat that are deposited in the breast area of the male if
they are obese. Body builders who have used or regularly use of high doses of
anabolic steroids to build up muscle mass can also increase the chances of
developing Gynecomastia. This is because they are reducing their own production
of testosterone with their use of these steroids.
An alarming cause for Gynecomastia is increased levels of estrogen-like substances and
steroids in food products. These hormones are fed to the animals to increase
their muscle mass and weight. Access to high levels of estrogen due to contamination in the
environment can put a man at higher risk of developing Gynecomastia. High levels of marijuana
use can also lead to gynecomastia. This happens because the balance between
testosterones hormones and estrogen hormones is disturbed. Estrogen is the female hormone which helps the breast
tissues develop and testosterones are male hormones which stop breast tissue
from growing.
How Do You Cure Gynecomastia?
There is no natural way to cure Gynecomastia. If the
gynecomastia is due to obesity weight loss with diet and exercise will help.
There is no medicine that will help although there are plenty of companies that
are selling this junk.
Surgery is the only way to treat Gynecomastia. This is
performed with a combination of procedures which includes direct surgical
excision with and without liposuction for contouring the rest of the chest. therefore,,
if you want quick visible results, the only solution is a surgery to reduce the
male breasts.
Who Should Opt for Male Breast Reduction Surgery
Any male that is healthy and older than 14 years can safely
opt for this surgery. Boys in the pre-puberty or puberty stage may be
candidates however the problem may partially correct itself with maturation and
weight loss. Therefore, parents may wait about going for this surgery as there is
a small chances of the problem
getting only partially fixed on its own once their hormones get balanced with
time.
How Dangerous is this Surgery and What Anesthesia is used?
This surgery is extremely safe. In this surgery, the excess
glandular breast is removed. The dense tissue is removed through excision and
the rest of the softer breast can be removed by liposuction. Overall, this
surgery can be done in as little as one half hour and may take longer, roughly
2 hours. It can be done in an office setting and the patient is not required to
be admitted in a hospital.
The anesthesia used differs from case to case. A severe case
of Gynecomastia with larger breasts may require general anesthesia whereas a
smaller breast enlargement can be removed under local anesthesia.
We hope this article was helpful in answering your queries.

Benefits Of Getting Tear Trough Fillers
The most effective treatment to
counteract such sagginess and dark circles is ‘Tear Eye Trough’ fillers. This
treatment targets the hollow area under the eyes— right above the cheek. The
surgeon injects hyaluronic acid or fat under the
eyes to firm up the hollows. It is a quick procedure and surgery free method
and is gaining popularity in recent years.
The results of this treatment are
immediate and fantastic even with only one session. If you want to know more
about the treatment, read ahead:
It Is a Surgery-Free Treatment
For those who hate surgeries and
lengthy procedures, the tear eye through fillers emerges as a perfect solution.
Possibly one of the quickest treatments to achieve a rejuvenated appearance,
the treatment is nonsurgical, non-invasive and ideal for those who have a busy
schedule. No need to miss work as the treatment can easily be done during lunch
breaks too. Besides this, the recovery period is quick as mild swelling and
bruising subside within days.
It is Reversible
Even one filler is enough to give
results that last up to a year. The area under the eye is less susceptible to
much movement; hence, the effect of the treatment lasts for a very long time as
compared to other filler treatments. However, the treatment is reversible.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are easily dissolvable, so they can be removed.
Quick Procedure and Quicker Recovery
The procedure does not hurt more than any vaccination
treatment. The treatment involves injecting a solution under the eyes. When
done by a professional plastic surgeon, the results are precise. Patients can
expect very mild swelling and bruising; however, the recovery time is
surprisingly quick—the visible post treatment affects heal in days. Again, a
skilled surgeon would know where to inject to achieve the lowest level of
bruising.
Fat Injections
An alternative to the use of fillers which are manufactured
and purchased your own fat can be used for the exact same tear trough filler
procedure. This can still also be performed under local anesthesia. Your own
fat is harvested with syringe liposuction. This fat is then processed and
reinjected in the same fashion. These results are more permanent than the
fillers.
Conclusion
Are you tired of your dark
circles? Then Tear Eye Trough Fillers is your best option! An appointment with
a certified professional will give you the best results. Call Dr Norman
Bakshandeh Day, M.D, F.A.C.S at Day
Plastic Surgery for fantastic results.

All You Need to Know About Augmentation
Breast augmentation is one of the top five cosmetic surgeries
people opt for due to the visible difference it can bring to one's appearance.
It can add youth and volume to breasts, making you feel beautiful and feminine.
It’s no wonder why augmentation surgeries have grown by 48%
since 2000.
Here are some facts about breast implants/breast augmentation
What Is Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure involving the placement
of implants or the transfer of fat to the breast area, solely to achieve a
fuller volume.
These implants may be placed
either under or on top of the pectoral muscle through incisions in the armpit,
near the nipple or crease of the breast.
This procedure brings symmetry to
the chest area, making the breasts seem shapely and full. Implants can
sometimes fill the breast envelope and take the place of a breast lift. It is, however,
not a recommended surgery to uplift severely sagging breasts, which may require
a separate breast uplifting surgery.
Silicone implants with gel-based
filling are the most popular choice, with 87%
of patients preferring them in 2017. The saline implants filled with a
saltwater solution and fat transfer procedure are also popular options.
The Recovery Period
The recovery period can last up
to a year; however, most patients are ok within a few days. It is also normal
to feel discomfort, soreness, and to temporarily lose sensation on your
breasts, which disappear within a few weeks.
It is also recommended not to stretch your arms too high post
surgery for healing purposes while some female patients may notice their
menstruation cycle to change post surgery. The body can bounce back to a
regular cycle after a while, though.
The Pros
Breast augmentation can bring confidence, and it has been reported
to improve dwindling self-esteem and boost sexuality. The newer variants can
give a natural looking shape and buoyancy, feeling natural to touch due to
firmer shape tapered at the top. You will look better in all of your clothing.
Breast implants are ideal to gain
back body confidence post a mastectomy procedure or to smoothen out the
appearance of an aged chest.
The Cons
Breasts change after the patient
goes through pregnancy or weight fluctuations and may require revisions.
Implants are devices and are susceptible to tears and ruptures but this is
extremely uncommon.

your appearance, contact Dr. Norman

Everything You Need to Know About Hyperhidrosis – Excessive Sweating
Sweating is a natural phenomenon of the body. Whether you’ve
just come from a robust workout or spent a few minutes in the sweltering heat,
you’re probably going to sweat 3-4 times a day. It’s totally normal, and
actually healthy to perspire that much. Your body gets rid of the toxins and cools
itself off through that sweat. You can always take a quick shower and spray
some deodorant to feel nice and clean again.
However, if you’ve been noticing excessive sweating, even
when there isn’t an external trigger, then you may have a condition called
Hyperhidrosis. It is a common disorder, which affects almost 3-4% of the
American population currently. The most common parts of the body that are prone
to sweating are underarms, soles of the feet, palms, and sometimes the upper
back.
It’s not that hard to identify whether you have this
condition or not because it usually starts around the age of 13. If left
untreated, excessive sweating can certainly threaten your quality of life. It
can lead to poor relationships, lack of confidence, and make socializing
extremely difficult. If you’re sweating for nearly everything you do – like
holding the car wheel, shaking someone’s hands, or using your phone – then it’s
important to seek medical treatment.
Symptoms
Some common signs of Hyperhidrosis include having constantly
wet palms and wet soles of the feet. If your clothes quickly soak with sweat,
or you face painful skin problems like bacterial infections, then you may have
Hyperhidrosis. Stained clothing, frequent sweating without an external trigger
and lack of self-confidence are all symptoms of this grave condition. Over
time, you may develop body odor issues, which can keep you from approaching
people and making friends.
Causes
The possible causes of excessive sweating include primary
Hyperhidrosis and secondary Hyperhidrosis. The former is associated with
heightened stress, anxiety, and nervousness. It causes profound emotional
stress in the patient for which they may need urgent treatment. The root of the
problem is in fact excessive sweat production in the apocrine glands of the
human skin.
Secondary Hyperhidrosis is usually caused by diabetes, heart
diseases, spinal cord injuries, anxiety, or Parkinson’s. And, while this is
just a handful of causes, the problem can also be deeper, linking to respiratory
failure, hyperthyroidism, and even cancer.
Treatment
However, none of this should ever scare you. As acute as the
problem looks, it can be solved with a quick surgery. While Botox or paralytic
agents may be a temporary solution, getting an excision to reduce those
apocrine glands is a permanent Hyperhidrosis treatment. The professional will
insert a small incision in the armpit and use cannulas to remove the excessive
glands.

harm in seeking surgery to improve the quality of your life. And, if you’re
